The Daily Directive

This is the last season of the decade in BE FB. So how did the teams do? Who was the team of the decade? Well lets take a look...


1. WV 77-35, 43-19 in BE, 4 BE Titles, 5-3 in Bowls, 2 BCS Bowls, 5 Top 25 finishes, 3 Top 10 finishes
-RichRod took over in 2001 and led WV to the top of the BE.

2. UL 79-33, 15-13 in BE, 1 BE Title, 3 CUSA Titles, 3-4 in Bowls, 1 BCS Bowl, 4 Top 20 finishes, 2 Top 10 finishes
-While they have the best record of the decade, they didnt join the BE until 2005. Playing in CUSA for 5 years drops them.

3. Pitt 64-46, 36-26 in BE, 1 BE Title, 2-4 in Bowls, 1 BCS Bowl, 2 Top 25 finishes
-Not bad for having a HC fired during this time

4. Cincy 66-47, 16-12 in BE, 1 BE Title, 1 CUSA Title, 3-4 in Bowls, 1 BCS Bowl, 2 Top 20 finishes
-They too get knocked down because they didnt join the BE until 2005.

5. USF 67-39, 14-14 in BE, 2-2 in Bowls
-Hard team to rank. They were 1AA in 2000 and 2001-02 they were a 1A Indy, playing no one. They joined CUSA for 2003-04 before the BE in 2005.

6. RU 49-59, 20-42 in BE, 3-1 in Bowls, 1 Top 15 finish
-Despite some good years the 2nd half of the decade, RU will end below .500 (unless they go 12-1 or undefeated). Schianos first year was 2001 and RU fans joined the BE in 2005. Worst BE record of the decade so far.

7. UConn 54-53, 14-20 in BE, 1 BE Title, 2-1 in Bowls
-They joined 1A in 2000 and were Indy until joining the BE in 2004. So they get knocked down, even though their sched was harder than RUs OOC one.

8. SU 42-65, 21-41 in BE, 1 BE Title, 1-1 in Bowls, 1 Top 15 finish
-Wow is that bad. SU hasnt had a winning season since 2001!!!! Despite going 10-3 that year, SU is still 23 games under .500 for the decade. Ouch!
